- Gas Turbine Materials and Coatings Solutions (GTMCS) offers many services related to gas turbine materials, coatings and their manufacture. This includes consulting on the process development of diffusion coatings such as chemical vapor deposition, pack cementation and Vapor Phase Aluminiding.
- GTMCS can support the development of abradable, hot corrosion oxidation, and wear resistant, coatings applied by atmospheric and “low pressure” plasma spray.
- Knowledgeable in electron beam physical vapor deposition and plasma spray thermal barrier coatings. Has substantial experience in steam oxidation-resistant and abradable coatings for ceramic matrix compositions.
- Support for directionally solidified and single-crystal casting.
- Provides consulting on superalloy physical metallurgy, powder metallurgy of disk materials, and mechanical behavior of coatings and materials, including low and high cycle fatigue and thermal mechanical fatigue.
- Provides support for the qualification of gas turbine materials and coatings special processes at suppliers.
- Performs patent searches in gas turbine materials and coatings. Interface with Georgia Tech Materials Department to develop advanced systems.
- Works with outside laboratories for metallurgical support
