  • Worked for over 12 years as the Manager of the Surface Technology Group and later as a consulting engineer at RR. ​
  • Received a number of patents at RR, including the development of an abradable coating for Ceramic Matrix Composites (lead inventor). Directly involved in a plasma spray project which included process modeling, sensor development, and adaptive control. Has a total of 11 patents.​
  • Skilled in the development of processes such as chemical vapor deposition,  diffusion and thermal barrier coatings.  Knowledgeable in alloy development and mechanical behavior.
  • Previously worked at Rolls-Royce, Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, GE and Alstom Power on coatings, disks, repair of turbine blades/vanes, directionally solidified and single crystal casting of turbine blades.
  • In addition to coating patents, have a number of patents in directional solidification and single crystal casting of superalloy turbine blades/vanes and dry film lubricants.​
