- Mr. Cybulsky has over 40 years of experience in aero and industrial gas turbine materials and coatings. He has held key positions at Gas Turbine companies such as Rolls-Royce, Alstom Power, GE and Pratt & Whitney Aircraft.
- Worked for over 12 years as the Manager of the Surface Technology Group and later as a consulting engineer at RR.
- Received a number of patents at RR, including the development of an abradable coating for Ceramic Matrix Composites (lead inventor). Directly involved in a plasma spray project which included process modeling, sensor development, and adaptive control. Has a total of 11 patents.
- Skilled in the development of processes such as chemical vapor deposition, diffusion and thermal barrier coatings. Knowledgeable in alloy development and mechanical behavior.
- Previously worked at Rolls-Royce, Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, GE and Alstom Power on coatings, disks, repair of turbine blades/vanes, directionally solidified and single crystal casting of turbine blades.
- In addition to coating patents, have a number of patents in directional solidification and single crystal casting of superalloy turbine blades/vanes and dry film lubricants.
- Skills include project development, conceptual design, project management, process improvement, vendor relations, technical writing and verbal and written communication.
- Experienced with Department of Defense, Department of Energy, and NAVY programs.
Worked extensively with universities , including the University of Virginia, Purdue University, the University of Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, MIT, and University of California Irvine. Coauthor of technical papers with researchers at MIT and Virginia Tech.
